Petrusev: “What should Olympiakos fans expect from me and what Vezenkov told me”

Filip Petrusev spoke on Nova’s Playmakers show about his transfer to Olympiacos, the recommendations he got from former Red and White players, but also the time he will need to find his footing again, as he has basically… follows an individual program.
A few days after his move to Olympiakos, Filip Petrusev gave an interview to Nova’s Playmakers Show and Dora Pantelis – Grigoris Papavasileiou. The 23-year-old Serbia international pointed out, among other things, the reasons why he said “yes” to the Red Lions’ proposal, but also what he can do on the pitch once he finds his competitive rhythm.
“Olympiakos fans are very passionate. You have to expect me to play with passion and energy too.” I would say I’m more of a foursome. But I can play at five. I can help in both positions.
He recently thought about the possibility of Greece and Olympiacos because they are a top team that competes for titles every year and have excellent fans.
I hadn’t spoken to coach Barzokas before signing. When I was in the US, I talked to my manager about where I could fit in better and we decided Olympiacos was the right team because they didn’t have another player with my characteristics. The coach told me not to stress.
Vezenkov and I talked a lot about Olympiakos, he gave me first-hand information and explained what to expect.
I’m definitely looking forward to the Greek derbies. Last year I played a lot of derbies in Serbia and would like to compare the experiences. I’ve seen some videos from last year’s age group derby and hope things don’t get out of hand.
No, I haven’t spoken to Vildosa. I think we’re not allowed to talk to Panathinaikos players (laughs). I’ve spoken to some other players who have experienced Greece, like Hassan Martin and Ben Bedil, but I don’t speak to Panathinaikos players.
I saw Milutinov briefly before the team left for Monaco. Since his return he has dominated the EuroLeague. I can’t wait to share the word with him. We spent a lot of time together on the Serbian national team in the summer.
I like the way Olympiacos competes, how physical the team is and how they rotate the ball to get the best shots. These are characteristics of a team that wants to win.
Why not win the EuroLeague? It is a difficult event and we have to take it step by step.
For the last month or two I’ve been doing mostly individual training and trying to stay in shape. I think physically I’m fine, but I need some time to get into the racing rhythm.
I want Olympiakos fans to come to every game and support us like they do. We take care of the rest.
I haven’t learned any bad words in Greek yet, I think that will happen. I know the basics, good morning, good evening. I also know a bad one, it starts with m..”, said, among other things, Petrusev.
