Othello Hunter doesn’t understand the divide between native and American players in Europe

Published

Direct opponent of the split between native and American players in Europe is Othello Hunter, who emphasizes that multi-year contracts for foreign players can be beneficial for a team.

In a series of tweets, Othello Hunter expressed his concerns about the weight given to native players in Europe and how easy it is for teams to switch American players like jerseys.

“I just want to get it out of my head. It would be nice if American players got long-term contracts in Europe. We have people talking about homegrown players and how they should be the backbone of the team. It drives me crazy.” .

Culture. Perfect. I say it to say it. Do you think that Americans or players in general who go to a foreign country don’t want to be part of a winning culture? Or be members of the main body? Instead, everyone says “next.”

The next coach or the next player because it’s cheap. It’s sad to see that teams don’t try to build a culture of success. I’m not saying all, but most teams don’t value players like they should. If they did, they wouldn’t be signing 4-5 new players every year and then wondering why they aren’t making the playoffs or making the final four.

I really think the players would stay longer if they knew they were counted on the teams. Longer contracts mean better team identity and culture. You actually have more time to build a good team that you can trust. There will be no players who only think about their stats. So you need both local and foreign players to build a culture of success in Europe.

I’m tired of seeing foreign players being disrespected in Europe. You don’t build a team culture with local players. You build it with players. Perfect. Don’t forget we need each other. Both in life and in basketball. Have a blessed day” wrote in detail the 36-year-old American center, who played in the EuroLeague with Siena (2013-14), with Olympiacos (2014-16), with Real (2016-17), with CSKA (2017-19), Maccabi (2019- 21) and with Bayern, to which he will belong from 2021.

Isaiah Kanan was adorable in The Bald Brothers. Now also see in the VIDEO what he caused by saying that he has not eaten souvlaki, how he answered the question about staying at Olympiakos and why he has no problem not being called by his name .

You heard it, you read it. Time to see some excerpts from Isaiah Kanan’s interview with Sportish and the Bald Brothers. The American guard was in the 24MEDIA studios for 73 minutes, he talked about his whole life and showed all his faces.

He was happy talking about the Greek souvlaki (or gyros, if that’s what some people want), sad remembering the Final Four in Kaunas, happy talking about Olympiakos, Bartzokas and the question spoke of his stay, emotionally, as he rolled back the year to the days of Hurricane Katrina and his serious injury in an NBA game.

But watch three VIDEO features from the lengthy interview:

In the first he talks about his stay and next season at Olympiakos

In the second for the Greek souvlaki

Check out this Instagram post.

In the third and last sentence, because he has no problem with mispronouncing his name:

Story with meaning by Printezis about Milutinov

Giorgos Printezis uploaded a five-year-old post to Instagram in which he tells a meaningful story in the company of Miloutinov, Papanikolaou and Vezenkov.

Nikola Milutinov has been in Greece for the past few days. He met with Veschenkov. He is known to be Olympiacos’ first target. All of this gave Giorgos Printezis the opportunity to upload an older story of his to Instagram that is full of meaning.

Notably, the former Olympiakos captain has uploaded the post he posted in 2018 when Milutinov left the ‘Red-Whites’. He then uploaded a photo of the two performing together with Kostas Papanikolaou and Sasha Vezenkov with the message “you can find everything but not that. Good luck brother!!!”. He has now done that, except he added an emoji in the bottom right showing someone thinking.

It’s been five years since this post, and Printezis found it in his memories and re-uploaded it, a step that makes sense to create associations.
