Boxing champion Gervonte Davis jailed for hit-and-run
American WBA champion Gervonte Davis will serve the remainder of his 90-day sentence for hit-and-run in prison after violating a home confinement sentence.
Davis, 28, was sentenced in early May in a 2020 hit-and-run case to a suspended prison sentence and 90 days of house arrest, as well as three years of supervised probation, 200 hours of community service and other programs that needed to be completed.
The Baltimore Banner reports that the boxer has now been ordered to serve the remainder of his sentence in prison. Davis’ attorney confirmed the change in sentence.
Davis won 27 victories in the professional ring, 25 of them by knockout. The American is the reigning WBA Light Welterweight Champion and WBA Lightweight Champion.
