Kryvbas beat Metalist 1925 and continue to fight for Conference League

Published

Compared to the final round, Metalist 1925 head coach Edmar made two changes to the starting lineup. Potimkov and Kravchenko took the field to replace Martynyuk and the disqualified Zhychikov. Yuriy Vernydub made a staff rotation after beating another Kharkiv club Metallist: Zaderaka was substituted for the disqualified Lunev.

With both opponents struggling to avoid passing games, Metalist actively started the first game in the UPL at the 1925 field. The guests hit the frame first, but Sosa struck Mozil’s hands low. The home team responded with a long-range shot from Remenyuk, who shot close to the goal frame. It could be perfect, and Debelko punched after Kapich got a corner kick right off the bat right next to the bar.

Opponents quickly moved from defensive to offensive actions, but failed to reach the final blows and the goalkeepers did not have to show their skills. The Kryvbas players had more possession, but there was no chance near Mozil’s goal due to faulty final passes. But towards the end of the half, Kapic immediately punched the goal, but Mozil eliminated the danger.

As soon as the second half started, Kryvbas’s attack resulted in a goal. After Debelko’s right wing pass, the ball from Kurilo’s foot went to Zaderaka, who passed Mozil at close range. This is how the “dry” club record streak, which lasted 325 minutes at home of Metalist 1925, was interrupted. The goalless away streak of Kryvbas, which lasted 323 minutes, also came to an end.

The wards of Yuriy Vernydub continued to take the initiative and look for ways to score goals against their opponents. One of the guests’ flanking attacks ended with Dibango’s kick over the crossbar. Kapic also lacked accuracy and long-range shooting. The game continued for a while on the skirts of both doors and there were no dangerous moments.

At the end of the match, Rusin could have evened the score by shooting into the top corner, but Klischuk got the team out of trouble. Incomplete accuracy and impact Dmitrenko. However, in the final seconds, Korablin blocked Kapic’s pass by scoring his first goal in the UPL (match 10).

As a result, Kryvbas moved closer to the top six teams after this win. And with one lap to the end of the championship, Metalist 1925 continues to be in the group of teams that can play transition matches with the representatives of the First Division.
