British referee Anthony Taylor and his relatives were attacked by Roma fans at the Budapest airport after the Europa League final.

Roman hooligans threw chairs and other objects at the referee. Law enforcement was able to protect Taylor and her family.

Taylor worked in the final match between Sevilla and Roma (1:1, pen. 4:1), after which the Spanish club won the Europa League trophy. Roma fans are not happy with the referees. The referee awarded Roma a penalty and then canceled after using VAR.

Rome Coach Jose Mourinho After the match, he criticized the refereeing, believing that the referee should remove Eric Lamela, and when the ball hit the defender, he gave the Spanish team an 11-metre kick.

Jose Mourinho, who was waiting for the referees in the stadium’s parking lot after the match, shouted insults at the referee by expressing his complaints: “What a shame man! You are a damn disgrace!”

Panathinaikos: “It will be a coincidence if the study is published while 120,000 spectators were present”

PAE Panathinaikos issued a statement on the issue arising with OAKA and raised some questions regarding the specific issue.

Shortly after the stability of the Olympic Stadium and the problems arising at the European Cloverleaf Games became known, PAE Panathinaikos published a corresponding statement in which it referred to the problem that had become known and asked some questions.

The Green Party’s statement says:

It is with regret that we have been informed that there is a study on the roof of the football field at the Olympic Stadium which comes to the conclusion that the construction does not meet the permissible static efficiencies.

It is surprising that the roofing by Calatrava, one of the leading architects of this type of construction, and by Cimolai, the world’s leading iron construction company, which built the roofing of most European football stadiums, were the main Greek architects and engineers at the Project involved.

PS It may be a coincidence if a study is published that began in 2021, at a time when Panathinaikos hosted 120,000 spectators in this stadium…

PS1 Asked about the study by Calatrava and the Cimolai company?

PS2: Some time ago we were informed that the first structural study called for very strong glazing of the roof of the shelter and in the end Plexiglas/Lexan was installed instead because they could not keep up with the Olympic Games schedule. The canopy was built to specifications to withstand the weight of the panels, which are many times greater than Lexan. Do the people who did the static control study know this? We are waiting for answers/clarifications.”

The OAKA is over for Panathinaikos: it is changing its venue for the Europa League games

Panathinaikos will not be able to use it in the remaining Europa League games against Rennes and Maccabi Haifa after the problem identified at OAKA and is looking for a new home base with a more likely return to Leoforos.

The closure of OAKA due to the problem with the stability of the roofer Calatrava represents a major problem for Panathinaikos and especially for its presence in the Europa League games.

According to government circles, the problem cannot be solved quickly and the Greens will not be able to play in the games they have to play in the groups against Rennes and Maccabi Haifa.

The Greens are asked to find another seat. Unless UEFA grants permission to host the Cloverleaf at its historic venue, the Avenue, in the next few games, which is the most likely scenario.

Panathinaikos will play for the Europa League first against Rennes on October 26th and against Maccabi Haifa on December 14th.

At the same time, of course, there is a problem for Panathinaikos B’, which had declared the Olympic Stadium as the home venue for Super League 2 games. From now on, some matches will be played in Leoforos and some matches will be played in other stadiums in Athens.

Initial estimates assume that the projects to be carried out will take at least nine months.
