Staikos: “Step by step PAS Ioannina is becoming competitive again”

Published

on

Thanasis Staikos said in his statements immediately after the game that he had no complaints about his players’ performance, but stressed that they should have a better image.

PAS Ioannina lost 3-0 to Olympiakos in Zosimades and Thanasis Staikos said in his post-match statements that things became very difficult when his team found themselves two goals behind the red and whites early on.

He was happy with the players’ performance, but not with his image, and pointed out that PAS Ioannina would work step by step to become competitive again.

In detail, what Thanasis Staikos said to NOVA: About the game: Today it is true that we did not resist and did not perform as well as we did in Zosimades. When you lose 2-0 to Olympiakos with two shots from distance, it’s not easy to react to that. We had a lot of deficiencies, especially in the center area.

Football players who had months to play were selected. No complaints. In these games we want to stay competitive until the end and win points. We are happy, we are moving forward. Work, patience and in the end our efforts will be justified“.

Among the points where he felt his team still had room to maneuver: In the first half we reacted after the 30th minute, we were able to react. I think we were competitive until the 75th minute when we tried. In the end, Olympiakos’ changes and good management shaped the result. The game didn’t start well for us“.

To continue: For us there is a cup game that interests us. We are invited to continue the difficult schedule with two away series. We are competitive in every area. We wanted to be more competitive. Step by step, PAS Ioannina is becoming competitive again“.
