“Nemirovsky had too much democracy. Players still don’t always accept this approach” – Gimaev

Former head coach of Sibir David Nemirovsky applied a democratic approach to hockey players, which the players do not always accept, says former defender and commentator Sergei Gimaev.

The 47-year-old Canadian specialist was fired on Wednesday “due to unsatisfactory team performance.”

— Every time they propose to fire this or that coach, I have the question “who instead?” For example, Butsaev will be appointed to Siberia. I have no confidence that it will immediately give results. Any coach needs time, but in the case of David, I think the hockey the team played was not satisfactory.

I think that Fastovsky saw in Krivokrasov more charisma, the ability to lift players out of the trenches. David still had too much democracy. Our players still do not always accept this approach, although in general we are moving in this direction. It also played a role that Krivokrasov has been in the team for the second year, and he is familiar with it, Tarasenko and Podomatsky also remain, so the team does not need to be built from scratch,” Sport24 quotes Gimaev as saying.

After 40 matches, the Novosibirsk club is eighth in the Eastern Conference table, gaining 41 points.
