Coach of the Ukrainian youth team: “We are going to the World Cup for promotion”

Andrei Sryubko, coach of the Ukrainian U-20 hockey team, said that he is faced with the task of improving the classification of the team in the World Championship 1B League.
“I invited almost everyone from the training camp in the Czech Republic and a few players from North America. Before the championship, we will organize another short training camp in which 25 hockey players will participate, and at the end of the championship, 20 field players and two goalkeepers will remain.
The training camp in November showed us that we have a very serious team, our players are very smart and technical, and they do not lose games even in the most difficult situations. As I said, our most difficult task will now be to choose who is the best among the worthy ones.
In two weeks we will carry out a very serious task; We will do everything to bring a gold medal to Ukraine. The team was already one step away from the goal, we will change that,” said Sryubko.
The opponents of the Ukrainian youth team in the World Cup will be teams from Poland, Slovenia, Italy, Estonia and Croatia.

CSKA hockey player Colby Williams said that he was honored to play in such a historic club.
On Monday, CSKA lost to Lokomotiv on its ice with a score of 2:3. Williams moved to CSKA from Admiral as part of an exchange in early November.
— It was a tense game. We fought until the end, we had some chances, but, unfortunately, we hit the post. In addition, the Lokomotiv goalkeeper played well. We didn’t have some key players on the ice, but the guys who came on in their place looked decent. We could have won, but it didn’t work out. I played several matches at CSKA. Every day something new happens to me. I’m getting used to the coach and the guys. Everything is new to me. I like everything. It’s an honor to play for such a historic club. Great team, great city. I’m glad to be here. I already knew some of the guys before moving to CSKA. Darren Dietz takes good care of me. He is always happy to answer any of my questions. Fredrik Claesson is also a great guy. Vitaly Abramov and I once played on the same team. Plotnikov is also good. The doors of the coaching staff at CSKA are constantly open,” RB Sport quotes Williams as saying.
CSKA, having scored 40 points in 35 matches, is in sixth place in the Western Conference standings.
