The Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium and the Champions League format
Athlitiki Enosis Konstantinoupoleos, or AEK Athens, are one of Greece's major professional football clubs and are based in the Athens suburb of Nea Filadelfeia.
Their Italian opponents, Como 1907, are based in the city of Como in Lombardy, northern Italy. The club play their home fixtures at the lakeside Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium, a venue named after the Italian rower and soldier Giuseppe Sinigaglia.

The fixture forms part of the League Phase of the UEFA Champions League, Europe's premier club football tournament. Under the 36-team League Phase structure introduced by UEFA, each participating club plays eight matches against eight different opponents, split evenly between four home games and four away trips, to determine qualification for the knockout rounds.
