FC Barcelona and Manchester City have agreed a transfer for Brazilian forward Kerolin Nicoli, who has signed a contract with the Catalan club running until 2030, Barcelona announced on Tuesday.
Barcelona will pay City around 1.5 million euros in fixed and variable fees for the 26-year-old, according to various media reports, making it the most expensive transfer in the club's history.
In a statement, Barcelona said the signing brought in a player capable of making a difference in the final third thanks to her one-on-one imbalance, her speed and her ability to find goal. Kerolin normally plays as a winger but her versatility allows her to operate anywhere across the front line.
Barcelona's technical secretariat had listed Kerolin as one of its priority targets to add fresh attacking options for the team coached by Pere Romeu, following the departure of Salma Paralluelo to Olympique Lyonnais. The Brazil international arrives in what the club described as one of the best moments of her career, joining a European champion squad built to compete for every title again.
Career across four leagues
Kerolin has played for five clubs in the Brazilian league, winning the Copa Libertadores with Corinthians in 2017. She later joined Madrid CFF in Spain's Liga F after serving a two-year ban following a positive doping test while at Palmeiras. She has also played in the United States' NWSL with North Carolina Courage and in England's FA Women's Super League with Manchester City.
Key player for Brazil
Kerolin has also become an important player for the Brazilian national team, taking part in the country's major international competitions. She has won the Copa America twice, with Colombia in 2022 and Ecuador in 2025, and took a silver medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Presentation set for Wednesday
Kerolin arrived in Barcelona on Tuesday. Speaking after landing, she said she was very happy to be there and that dreams come true. She will be presented as a new Barcelona player on Wednesday at 13:00 in the Sala Comercial at the Spotify Camp Nou, after signing her new contract.
