Benfica requested permission to host a fan zone outside Estádio da Luz for their opening league match against Académico de Viseu this Sunday. Club leaders asked for a Special Noise License for the fan gathering. Benfica aims for supporters to welcome the squad at the stadium in the same manner as during the recent Eusébio Cup. Reports indicate the club did not request standard police services for the planned event.
