The squad brings together several high-level figures playing in Europe whom Neveleff had previously sought to unite. Prominent call-ups include striker Mariano Diaz of Spanish club Alaves, left-back Junior Firpo of Real Betis, midfielder Pablo Rosario of Porto, Heinz Morschel of Portuguese side Vizela, and Peter Gonzalez of Polish club Gornik Zabrze.
For Dominican football, bringing together Europe-based professionals marks a significant milestone in national team development. Many of these players developed through elite European club systems, bringing top-flight experience from competitions across the continent to the national setup.
Mariano Diaz arrives in strong form after scoring three goals for Alaves in Spain's first division, where the Basque club currently sits sixth in the LaLiga EA Sports standings. The 33-year-old forward appears fast and in prime physical condition, displaying the qualities that previously saw him score 21 goals for French side Lyon between 2017 and 2019 during a loan spell from Real Madrid.
Born in Spain to a Dominican mother, Diaz enjoyed a notable club career in Europe, including multiple stints at Real Madrid before joining Alaves. His inclusion gives the Dominican attack established top-tier goalscoring experience ahead of the tournament.
Strong form across European leagues
Midfielder Pablo Rosario enters the international window following strong performances for Portuguese giants Porto. According to tracking data received by Neveleff from his team analyst, Rosario was ranked as one of the top Latin American players in Europe this week based on his overall midfield display.
The Porto midfielder has logged 573 minutes across seven official matches this season, registering one assist and starting six of those games. His recent club appearances include a starting role in Porto's Champions League fixture against Manchester City. Neveleff highlighted that his analyst's weekly rating placed Rosario at the top of the European rankings.
Rosario, who previously played in the Dutch Eredivisie for PSV Eindhoven and in Ligue 1 for French club Nice, joined Porto to compete at the highest level of European football. The Portuguese club regularly features in the UEFA Champions League, providing Rosario with high-intensity European experience that Neveleff relies upon in central midfield.
Real Betis left-back Junior Firpo joins the national team having accumulated 138 minutes across two appearances between LaLiga and Champions League action this season. Firpo, who spent previous spells at Barcelona and Leeds United before returning to Seville-based Betis, provides proven defensive stability and attacking threat on the left flank.
