England manager Thomas Tuchel watched captain Harry Kane score twice in a 3-0 victory against the Czech Republic at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday night.

The convincing win concluded a three-week international break that began with an error-strewn defeat to Spain 11 days ago, but ended with England scoring 12 unanswered goals across three consecutive victories.

Kane marked his record-equalling 125th appearance for his country by scoring his 90th and 91st international goals as England controlled the contest from the opening whistle.

The impressive display capped a significant turnaround for Tuchel, who began the extended international window complaining about its length. Two weeks ago at St George's Park, the manager gave somewhat tongue-tied responses when questioned about England's tactical identity, speaking of "embracing chaos."

Instead of chaos, England delivered structure and intent. Facing a three-day turnaround following a weekend fixture, Tuchel altered his starting lineup by resting Bukayo Saka and Anthony Gordon, creating opportunities for Morgan Rogers and Eberechi Eze on the wings.

Alexander-Arnold and Rogers drive first half dominance

Real Madrid full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold was pivotal to England's early surge. Operating with freedom on the right flank, the former Liverpool player accumulated 30 touches in the first half-hour, with the majority coming deep inside Czech territory. Alexander-Arnold tested Czech goalkeeper Antonin Hornicek early with a free-kick that was pushed around the post.

England's pressure paid off in the 28th minute. Kane drifted wide to send a low cross into the penalty area, where former West Ham United defender Vladimir Coufal accidentally turned the ball into his own net from six yards under no immediate pressure from Eze.

The hosts doubled their lead five minutes before half-time through a fluid combination. Midfielder Elliot Anderson, whose passing range proved exemplary throughout the half, delivered a searching pass to Rogers' instep. Rogers struck a first-time cross into the path of Kane, who applied a clinical finish.

The goal followed another sharp move minutes earlier, when Anderson combined with Alexander-Arnold and Rogers before firing over the crossbar. Kane had also rattled the bar with a long-range strike as England suffocated the Czech midfield.

Kane heads third as England control second half

Kane secured his brace in the 57th minute, rising highest at the near post to head down a corner kick into the net. The set-piece goal pleased Tuchel, who has consistently prioritized efficiency from dead-ball situations.

Jude Bellingham produced another dominant midfield performance, continuing his resurgence after being left out of the national squad 11 months ago. Alongside Anderson and Myles Lewis-Skelly, who received a first-half booking, Bellingham controlled the tempo and drove England forward.

The Czech Republic, managed by Santiago Denia Sanchez, struggled to mount any sustained response after their defeat to Spain on Saturday. Defenders Martin Vitik and Alex Sadilek picked up bookings, while Coufal was substituted in the 84th minute for Karel Kricfalusi.

England are starting to flow - Kane scored a fine third goal following great play from his team

Tuchel refreshed his side in the second half, introducing Jarrad Branthwaite for Marc Guehi and James Garner for Anderson in the 63rd minute. Morgan Gibbs-White replaced Lewis Hall in the 72nd minute, and Rio Ngumoha replaced Bellingham shortly after.

Kane continued searching for a hat-trick until the 82nd minute, when he was replaced by Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Calvert-Lewin, who has been in career-best form for Leeds United, had previously been restricted to just seven minutes of action against Spain during the entire international window.

England's intensity dropped in the final ten minutes, and Wembley felt comparatively quiet at the final whistle. However, the three victories, which included a heavy defeat of Croatia between the two wins over the Czechs, leave England in strong form ahead of next month's fixture against Spain in Madrid as they build toward hosting Euro 2028.
