Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek has detailed how manager Jose Mourinho confronted the squad in the dressing room and accused midfielder Esteban Granero of being a rat over a leaked line-up before a match against Barcelona.
Writing in his book, Una carrera no Real, the Polish goalkeeper explained that the incident triggered a permanent breakdown in relations within the squad. The details have resurfaced following the release of a Netflix documentary examining the period.
Dudek recalled that Mourinho entered the dressing room looking angry after information revealed defender Pepe would play in midfield. The manager told players that leaks damaged everyone at the club before pointing directly at Granero and demanding to know if he was the rat.

Mourinho repeated the accusation multiple times before shutting the door and leaving. Dudek noted that popular retellings over time had distorted the wording, clarifying that the manager specifically used the word rat rather than mole during the outburst.
