Paris Saint-Germain announced on Friday that Portuguese international João Neves and Spanish coach Luis Enrique had renewed their contracts with the club, running until 2031 and 2030 respectively. The five-time French champions and reigning European champions said four other players had also extended their deals.
The club said the renewals of coach Luis Enrique and players Lucas Beraldo, Senny Mayulu, João Neves, Willian Pacho and Fabián Ruiz showed its long-term commitment to those who embody its sporting project, built on the pursuit of maximum performance and collective excellence and on assembling a united, ambitious and consistently competitive squad. The announcement came moments before Paris Saint-Germain hosted Monaco in their third Ligue 1 fixture of the season.
100th appearance for PSG
João Neves played his 100th game for Paris Saint-Germain on Friday, having scored 14 goals and provided 14 assists for the club so far.
The midfielder joined PSG three seasons ago from Benfica in a deal initially worth 59.9 million euros, with a further six million euros already added in bonuses out of a maximum of 10 million euros in add-ons.
Trophies since leaving Benfica
Since departing Benfica, where he completed his youth development, made his senior debut and won one Portuguese league title, João Neves has won two Champions Leagues, one Intercontinental Cup, one European Super Cup, two league titles, one French Cup and two domestic Super Cups with Paris Saint-Germain.
Portugal caps and Nations League title
João Neves has 27 caps and four goals for Portugal's senior national team, with which he won the 2025 Nations League. With Benfica's youth sides he also won the Candido de Oliveira Super Cup, a Youth League and an Under-20 Intercontinental Cup.
His previous contract had been due to expire in 2029.
Other contract renewals
Paris Saint-Germain also extended the deal of Luis Enrique, the club's record trophy winner with 13 titles since taking charge in the 2023/24 season.
Spanish midfielder Fabián Ruiz, a European and World champion with the Spanish national team, extended his contract until 2028, with a further year as an option. Ecuadorian centre-back Willian Pacho, Brazilian centre-back Lucas Beraldo and midfielder Senny Mayulu all signed new contracts running until 2031.
Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, in comments released by the Paris club, said he was very pleased that the group would continue their journey at Paris Saint-Germain. He said they represented the present and future of the club's project, and that together they wanted to build something for the long term, stay true to the club's values and continue writing a collective story that its supporters could be proud of.
