Newcastle United have rejected an opening bid from Arsenal for midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, with the two clubs now in direct talks over a deal for the Brazil international.
Guimaraes has landed in Spain and is travelling to Newcastle's pre-season training camp in La Manga, where new head coach Matthias Jaissle is waiting to meet his captain. The 27-year-old confirmed his arrival in Spain on Instagram on Monday evening.
Chelsea sell Chalobah to Como
Chelsea and Como have agreed a £26million fee, plus a further £5.2million in add-ons, for the sale of centre-back Trevoh Chalobah. The 27-year-old England international is expected to travel to Italy on Wednesday evening to complete the move to the club managed by former Chelsea player Cesc Fabregas.
Chelsea are also looking to raise further funds in defence. Napoli continue to be interested in centre-back Benoit Badiashile, while Crystal Palace and West Ham United are both discussing offers for Axel Disasi, who spent last season on loan at West Ham but wants a return to a top-flight club. Chelsea additionally hope to make progress with Rayo Vallecano over a move for left wing-back Pep Chavarria.
Henderson completes Chelsea move
Chelsea have confirmed the signing of 36-year-old midfielder Jordan Henderson after he was allowed to leave Brentford with a year still to run on his contract.
"Given the size of the club, the manager, who I have great admiration for, and the quality of the players, this was a huge opportunity I couldn't turn down," Henderson said. "I was also so impressed with how much the ownership want Chelsea to be successful and move in the right direction."
Preston accept Wrexham bid for Whiteman
Preston North End have accepted a £3million bid from Wrexham for their captain Ben Whiteman, whose push for the move has angered manager Paul Heckingbottom.
"Ben knew there was a line I didn't want him to cross and unfortunately he has," Heckingbottom told BBC Radio Lancashire. "There's a valuation on him, I just hope for Ben's sake that Wrexham are willing to pay it otherwise he's put himself in a sticky situation. He's made his bed. I'm not bothered as long as I get another player."
The 30-year-old midfielder is now free to undergo a medical, with personal terms not expected to be a problem. The deal is expected to be completed within 48 hours, and Preston plan to reinvest the fee in three or four new signings this summer.
Fulham complete double Real Madrid raid
Fulham have confirmed the signings of striker Gonzalo Garcia for £36million and midfielder Cesar Palacios for £8.5million from Real Madrid. Both players have signed five-year contracts with the option of a further 12 months.
"I'm very grateful, very happy to be here," Garcia told the club website. "I have to thank the board and Arbeloa for the trust they've put in me, and I'm very, very excited to start."
Palacios said: "I am very emotional to be here. I believe it is the perfect step in my career. The Club is showing a lot of trust in me, and I'm going to show it on the pitch."
West Ham chase Solomon and Parrott
West Ham are among the clubs interested in signing winger Manor Solomon from Tottenham Hotspur. Solomon has impressed head coach Roberto de Zerbi, who worked with him at Shakhtar Donetsk, during pre-season matches in New Zealand and Australia.
The 27-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Villarreal and Fiorentina after an earlier loan at Leeds United, is only interested in a permanent transfer. Fiorentina retain an interest despite not making his loan permanent, and Tottenham need to sell players to balance De Zerbi's squad and raise funds.
West Ham are separately preparing an offer of around £18million for AZ Alkmaar striker Troy Parrott, having been rebuffed in an approach for Sunderland's Wilson Isidor. The Republic of Ireland international, who struggled during his time at Tottenham before finding form in the Netherlands, is also wanted by Ajax, Como, PSV Eindhoven and Real Betis, though Alkmaar are reluctant to sell to a domestic rival.
Sunderland reject Isidor approach
Sunderland have made clear they have no plans to sell Isidor despite West Ham's interest, though the two clubs are in discussions over a loan move for Ivory Coast winger Simon Adingra.
The 25-year-old Isidor, who returned from an impressive World Cup with Haiti, remains an integral part of Sunderland's squad heading into their season in European competition. West Ham are continuing talks over Parrott, while Lazio have shown interest in the Hammers' German forward Niclas Fullkrug.
Bernardo Silva arrives at Real Madrid
Bernardo Silva has arrived at Real Madrid to join up with manager Jose Mourinho's squad after leaving Manchester City at the end of last season. The 31-year-old Portugal international, fresh from the World Cup, was seen signing shirts for fans after undergoing his medical.
Other transfer moves
Manchester United are willing to send 18-year-old striker Chido Obi Martin out on loan to secure him regular game time. The Denmark Under-21 international, who joined from Arsenal's academy in 2024, has made seven first-team appearances without scoring. Cologne had shown interest earlier in the window but have since signed Manchester City's Jaiden Heskey and are pursuing Tottenham winger Mikey Moore.
Everton midfielder Tim Iroegbunam is drawing interest from Coventry City, Hull City and Ipswich Town, as well as two Italian clubs, having already been the subject of a January approach from Lazio.
Everton, who paid Aston Villa around £9million for the 23-year-old in 2024, are continuing talks over a deal for Arsenal's Christian Norgaard that could pave the way for Iroegbunam to leave once a suitable offer arrives.
Chelsea have received multiple approaches for winger Mykhailo Mudryk following his return to football, including three from Premier League clubs. Coventry City, managed by Frank Lampard, who worked with Mudryk at Stamford Bridge in 2023, are among those to have made enquiries. Chelsea are yet to decide whether to sell Mudryk permanently or send him out on loan following his comeback from a doping suspension.
Stockport County have appointed former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen as their new director of football methodology. The 62-year-old Dutchman joins Edgeley Park after working as assistant coach to the Iraq national team at the World Cup, and will oversee the club's football philosophy across the first team and academy.
