Olympiacos drew 0-0 against Nijmegen in the first leg of their Champions League third qualifying round tie at G. Karaiskakis Stadium on Tuesday night. The host team created major chances with the support of their home fans but failed to convert them. Goalkeeper Popovic made decisive saves to keep a clean sheet for the Dutch side.

Qualification odds and schedule

Despite the goalless draw, statistical platform Football Meets Data considers Olympiacos the favorite to qualify. Its model gives the team managed by Jose Luis Mendilibar a 59 percent chance of advancing to the next round, compared to 41 percent for Nijmegen. The second leg will take place at Goffertstadion on August 11 at 20:30.

The winner of the tie will advance to play the winner of the matchup between Union Saint-Gilloise and Bodo/Glimt for a place in the Champions League League Phase. The initial match between Union Saint-Gilloise and Bodo/Glimt ended in a 3-3 draw.
