Palmeiras advanced to the Copa do Brasil quarterfinals on Wednesday, August 5, despite losing 3-2 to Fortaleza at Arena Pantanal. The green team progressed 5-3 on aggregate after Abel Ferreira's side won the first leg 3-0 at home.
Miritello, Rodriguinho and Lucas Emanoel scored for Fortaleza. Flaco López and Murilo found the net for Palmeiras. Fortaleza led twice during the match, and although Palmeiras pulled level, the Cearense club scored the winning goal late in the game.
Quarterfinal draw
The draw for the Copa do Brasil quarterfinals will take place on Tuesday, August 11, at 11:00 a.m. Brasilia time at the CBF headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. Vasco, Atlético-MG, Santos, Grêmio and Cruzeiro have also advanced to the quarterfinal stage alongside Palmeiras. The final round of 16 matches will take place on Thursday, August 6.
