PAOK and Panathinaikos both cleared their European qualifying second legs, together delivering 300 UEFA coefficient points to Greece and keeping the country within striking range of Poland and Czech Republic in the association rankings.

The two results arrived on the same evening, offering Greek football a double boost heading into the third qualifying round of European competition.

PAOK through against Dynamo Kyiv

PAOK advanced to the third qualifying round of the Europa League after beating Dynamo Kyiv 5-3 on aggregate. The Thessaloniki club had built a 3-2 lead from the first leg and held firm across both matches to confirm their passage to the next stage.

Rastoder rescues Panathinaikos

Panathinaikos needed a late goal to survive their Conference League qualifier against Hungarian side Paksi. The Athens club had won the first leg 2-1 in Hungary, but the return fixture at the OAKA stadium proved a tense affair. Panathinaikos drew 2-2 at home, with Elmin Rastoder's goal in the 85th minute proving decisive. The 2-1 advantage from the first leg in Hungary was ultimately enough to send them through to the third qualifying round.

Greece holds 12th place in UEFA table

The two advancements added 300 points to Greece's UEFA country coefficient tally. Greece holds 12th place with 41.112 points, trailing Poland in 11th on 42.825 and Czech Republic in 10th on 43.425. Turkey sits in ninth with 47.175 points.

Greece's lead over the nations immediately below is considerably larger. Denmark in 13th holds 35.181 points and Norway in 14th has 33.912.
