Premier League clubs have one week left to complete their business before the summer transfer window closes, with the 20 top-flight sides having already spent more than £2billion combined.
The biggest deals within the division so far are Morgan Rogers's £117million move from Aston Villa to Chelsea, Elliot Anderson's £116million switch from Nottingham Forest to Manchester City, and Sandro Tonali's £100million transfer from Newcastle United to Tottenham Hotspur. No club considers its business finished, with a rush of activity expected before the deadline.
Arsenal turn to Osimhen as Alvarez eyes Barcelona
Arsenal want a new striker, and their preferred target is Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez, though the player himself wants to join Barcelona. Atletico do not want that move to happen, so Arsenal still have a chance if the relationship between club and player continues to sour. Galatasaray's Victor Osimhen is an alternative option.
Arsenal also want a left winger. Al Hilal are closing in on a £50million deal for Gabriel Martinelli, Ethan Nwaneri is expected to go out on loan, and Reiss Nelson is poised to join West Ham. Everton's Iliman Ndiaye, valued at £80million, is also admired by Arsenal for the left-wing role.
Villa, Bournemouth, Brentford and Brighton chase reinforcements
Aston Villa want a striker and a centre-back. They are set to bid for Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson, with Ollie Watkins poised to join Al Hilal, and have already had bids rejected for Southampton's Taylor Harwood-Bellis. Villa are also making enquiries for Club Brugge's Joel Ordonez and Chelsea's Tosin Adarabioyo, while free agent Leon Goretzka is set to add midfield experience.
Bournemouth are considering a defensive midfielder, a No10 and a winger, while their main priority is keeping their squad together amid interest in Alex Scott, Tyler Adams, El Junior Kroupi and Marcus Tavernier. Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio flew in on Monday ahead of completing a loan move that includes a £12.5million option to buy plus £2million in bonuses, with a £1million penalty if the option is not taken up.
Brentford's target is a left wing-back, with West Ham's El Hadji Malick Diouf a consistent interest throughout the summer. Defender Ethan Pinnock is joining Coventry City for £6million, and Brentford would like another midfielder, having considered a loan move for Chelsea's Mykhailo Mudryk. They remain wary of late bids for striker Igor Thiago.
Brighton want one or two wingers. Liverpool are interested in Yankuba Minteh but there remains a gap between valuations. Amario Cozier-Duberry has offers from Rangers and Wolves, while Brighton have asked about Millwall's Femi Azeez and Deportivo La Coruna's Yeremay Hernandez. The club are also working on a deal for BSC Young Boys left-back Jaouen Hadjam.
Chelsea plan for life after Enzo Fernandez
Chelsea's focus has been on moving players out, but if Manchester City firm up their interest in Enzo Fernandez, Chelsea would want a replacement lined up first. Monaco's Lamine Camara, Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton and Bournemouth's Alex Scott are all admired.
Chelsea's £100million valuation of Pedro Neto and £75million price tag on Malo Gusto have put off bids so far, though both players have interest from rival clubs. Juventus winger Francisco Conceicao is on Chelsea's radar should anyone match their asking price for Neto. Nottingham Forest spoke to Chelsea on Monday night about a move for striker Liam Delap, and Real Sociedad are pushing to sign Mamadou Sarr on loan.
Coventry, Palace, Everton, Fulham, Hull and Ipswich also active
Coventry are open to late additions and would like more options in defence and on the wing. They had interest in Milan's Fikayo Tomori and Porto's Francisco Moura, and are closing on the £6million deal for Brentford's Ethan Pinnock, though Stephen Mfuni's proposed loan move from Manchester City is off.
Crystal Palace want a forward, winger, midfielder and centre-back. Galatasaray continue to circle Ismaila Sarr, and Adam Wharton is a late option for some clubs despite Palace insisting he is not for sale. Palace have rebuffed Aston Villa's interest in Jean-Philippe Mateta, and Axel Disasi is due to sign from Chelsea. After Monaco rejected offers for Lamine Camara, Palace are looking at Auxerre's Kevin Danois and West Ham's Soungoutou Magassa, and have also checked on Roma midfielder Neil El Aynaoui.
Everton want a right-back, left-back, midfielder, winger and striker, with manager David Moyes seeking more quality in depth after the club fell short of Europe last season. Chelsea's Liam Delap is among the forwards under consideration.
Fulham are after a centre-back, midfielder and winger, having had bids rejected for Rennes defender Abdelhamid Ait-Boudlal and Trabzonspor's Chibuike Nwaiwu. They also admire Arsenal's Ethan Nwaneri.
Hull City want a forward, a winger and goalkeeping cover, and are progressing deals for Nice's Mohamed Ali-Cho and Union Berlin forward Ilya Ansah. Ipswich Town manager Gary O'Neil wants to strengthen in defence, midfield and attack, and is chasing Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Exequiel Palacios while also being among the many clubs keen on Liam Delap.
Leeds and Liverpool search for wingers and a goalkeeper
Leeds United want a winger, striker, defender and goalkeeper. Chelsea have rejected their latest loan bid for Mykhaylo Mudryk, and Leeds may add free agent defender Diogo Leite. They have also held talks over a £4.3million move for Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Michael Zetterer.
Liverpool are chasing two wingers, with Paris Saint-Germain's Bradley Barcola and Brighton's Yankuba Minteh their current targets. Without a breakthrough on fees soon they will have to consider alternatives, though both players want to join the club.
Manchester City and Manchester United weigh their options
Manchester City want a forward, midfielder and right-back. Ayyoub Bouaddi is on his way from Lille, and winger Allan Elias is set to join from Palmeiras after the clubs agreed a £34million deal. Enzo Fernandez remains an expensive option for City, who also admire Roma's Manu Kone and Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton. Jack Grealish could stay at the club as Omar Marmoush follows Savinho to Tottenham.
Manchester United would like a left-back and a forward. An enquiry for Newcastle's Lewis Hall was rejected, and despite limited funds remaining, United have checked on Barcelona's Alejandro Balde and Racing Santander's Jorge Salinas. Juventus or Aston Villa could bid for Joshua Zirkzee, which would provide funds for a new forward.
Newcastle, Forest, Sunderland and Tottenham finalise plans
Newcastle United's priority is a midfield organiser, and they are closing in on an agreement for Manchester City's Nico Gonzalez. They have also asked about Tottenham's Archie Gray and are discussing a move for versatile Lille forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo.
Nottingham Forest want a striker, right-back and midfielder. They are talking to Chelsea about Liam Delap and have also discussed Everton's Beto and Brentford's Igor Thiago for the striker role. Tottenham's Lucas Bergvall, Barcelona's Marc Casado and Auxerre's Kevin Danois are also in the mix, and Fiorentina right-back Dodo is the latest name in Forest's sights.
Sunderland have bolstered their midfield with the £8million arrival of Jules Ahoka from Royal Antwerp, and are working on a £30million deal for Sporting Lisbon right winger Geny Catamo. Goalkeeper Robin Roefs is in talks over a new contract.
Tottenham Hotspur want two forwards and cover at right-back. Savinho has already joined from Manchester City and Omar Marmoush will follow on an initial loan. Spurs are also trying an ambitious move for Liverpool's Cody Gakpo, while retaining interest in Chelsea's Pedro Neto as a back-up option.
