Houston Rockets forward Tari Eason has filed for a domestic violence restraining order against his ex-girlfriend, alleging she destroyed $92,000 worth of his clothing and threatened to kill him.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the 25-year-old filed the petition after alleging that his former partner, 32-year-old influencer Marilyn Maritza Melo Rodriguez, physically assaulted him following a dispute.
Eason also described a phone call with one of Rodriguez's friends who, he says, warned that she would 'break both my legs' and 'kill me.'
In the filing, Eason claims Rodriguez's mother once called him and asked him to drive the influencer to her family home. He alleges that after he arrived, a discussion turned violent and Rodriguez struck him in the face with a closed fist.

He further alleges that after leaving her, Rodriguez went to his Airbnb and poured liquid bleach over an assortment of his clothes, 'ruining them' in the process. Eason says the destroyed items were worth roughly $92,000 in total.
Eason is asking a judge to order Rodriguez to stay away from him, his home, his personal vehicle, his workplace and any arena in California where the Rockets are scheduled to play.
Early Friday morning, Rodriguez's representatives told TMZ that she 'disputes those portrayals and contends they are false, misleading and intended to damage her reputation while diverting attention from her allegations of harassment.' Representatives for Rodriguez had not responded to a separate request for comment as of Friday morning.
Career Background
Eason was selected by the Rockets with the 17th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft out of LSU, where he earned First-Team All-SEC honors and was named the conference's Sixth Man of the Year. The 6-foot-8 forward played all 82 games as a rookie and earned an NBA All-Rookie Second Team selection.
He recently agreed to a five-year, $81.5 million contract extension with the Rockets.
