FC Porto player Rodrigo Mora traveled to Italy on Tuesday afternoon to sign for AS Roma after a deal was finalized early in the morning. The board of FC Porto's sports division authorized the young footballer to travel to Rome to undergo physical examinations and complete his signature with the Italian club.



The transfer agreement was closed for 25 million euros, securing 50 percent of the player's economic rights for the Italian team. The package includes an additional 2 million euros tied to performance objectives, along with a purchase option for Roma to buy the remaining 50 percent of his rights in the future.

The sale ranks the Portugal under-21 international among FC Porto's highest-value player transfers. FC Porto's corporate structure authorized the move after terms were agreed between both clubs during overnight negotiations.

Transfer details and player profile

Mora boarded his flight to Italy accompanied by members of his family and his agent, Jorge Mendes. The player is scheduled to undergo his medical screening upon arrival in the Italian capital before finalizing terms on his new contract.



Mora is a youth international who has featured for Portugal at the under-21 level. His agent, Jorge Mendes, represents some of the most prominent figures in world football through his Gestifute agency and has overseen major transfers involving Portuguese clubs.

The young attacker arrives in Serie A after battling fitness issues over the past year and a quarter, having suffered three separate left thigh injuries in the last 15 months.



Club context and financial structure

FC Porto, based in Porto, competes in Portugal's top-flight Primeira Liga and operates its professional football team through a publicly listed sports company known as a SAD. AS Roma, based in Rome, competes in Italy's Serie A.

In Portuguese football transfers, economic rights, often referred to as a player's pass, determine the distribution of transfer revenue between interested parties. Following the completion of his physical examinations in Rome, Mora is expected to officially complete his move to the Italian side.
