The Liga Portuguesa de Futebol Profissional confirmed that the schedule modification was agreed upon by Sporting and Madeiran side Nacional, with formal approval also granted by the television broadcaster holding the official transmission rights. The original Friday evening kick-off time had coincided directly with FC Porto's home match against Moreirense FC, which remains set for 8:15 pm on September 4.
