Meanwhile, Manchester City's talks with Lille over 18-year-old Morocco international Ayyoub Bouaddi have reached a crucial stage. Bouaddi is ready to make the move now, though Lille would prefer him to stay in France for another season. His value has risen from around £60 million before the World Cup to approximately £80 million. City want him available for this season, with Real Madrid pressing for Rodri, who is keen to return to Spain for family reasons.

Brentford land Sangare
Brentford have agreed a £41 million deal to sign Lens midfielder Mamadou Sangare. The 24-year-old Mali international is preparing to travel to the UK for a medical after meeting with club officials in Paris. The deal includes a sell-on clause, with a percentage also due to Sangare's former club Rapid Wien. Brentford fended off competition from Crystal Palace and one other English club to land the midfielder, with the move clearing the way after the club agreed to mutually terminate Jordan Henderson's contract to allow him to join Chelsea.

Benfica defender Antonio Silva is expected to complete a £21.6 million move to Bournemouth. The 22-year-old starts for Benfica in their Europa League qualifier against St Gallen before linking up with his new teammates on the south coast.
Newcastle close on Hornicek
Newcastle United are advancing in their move for Sporting Braga goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek. The Czech keeper was left out of Braga's Europa Conference League squad for their clash with Zeleznicar Pancevo, and confirmation of his departure for his £25 million release clause is expected once that game concludes.
Fulham sign Garcia and Palacios from Madrid
Fulham have agreed to buy forward Gonzalo Garcia from Real Madrid for £35 million, with Real retaining a 30 per cent sell-on clause and matching rights. The club have also agreed a separate £8.5 million deal for Real Madrid midfielder Cesar Palacios on a similar structure. Fulham are managed by former Real Madrid boss Alvaro Arbeloa.
Other moves
Manchester United defender Tyler Fredricson has agreed a permanent move to Swiss club Lausanne-Sport, with United inserting a sell-on clause and a buy-back clause into the deal. The 21-year-old made four first-team appearances for United. The club confirmed his departure in a statement thanking him for his efforts.
Brighton's move for Levante striker Carlos Espi has collapsed after Real Madrid agreed to sign the 21-year-old, who scored 11 goals last season and narrowly missed Spain's World Cup squad. Brighton had been tracking him as a replacement for Danny Welbeck.
Marcus Rashford has no interest in joining Roma this summer, according to reports, and is set to return to Manchester United's pre-season training after his loan spell at Barcelona.
Atletico Madrid have rekindled their interest in Tottenham captain Cristian Romero. The 28-year-old Argentina international's agents held talks with Inter Milan last weekend, though Inter director Piero Ausilio described a deal as complicated due to the financial package involved.
Leicester City have enquired about taking Brighton winger Tommy Watson on loan, while Hull are advancing in talks for Rayo Vallecano defender Nobel Mendy, having proposed a £15 million offer for the 21-year-old.
