Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a £60m deal with Premier League rivals Everton to sign forward Iliman Ndiaye, with Brazilian attacker Richarlison set to return to Goodison Park in the opposite direction.
Under the terms of the agreement, Spurs will pay £60m for Ndiaye, while Everton will pay £35m to bring Richarlison back to Merseyside.
Tottenham opened discussions for the Senegalese international last week after it became clear that Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo preferred a move to Manchester City if Liverpool agreed to sell him, according to Daily Mail Sport.
Ndiaye has rejected multiple contract extension offers from Everton over the past 12 months. Premier League champions Manchester City had also been monitoring the forward before Tottenham secured their agreement.
Everton are currently exploring other transfer targets as well. The Merseyside club are looking into a potential return deal for Manchester City winger Jack Grealish and have submitted a £9m bid to Fulham for Dutch right back Kenny Tete.
Ndiaye career statistics and Marseille history
Ndiaye has scored 17 goals and provided four assists in 74 appearances for Everton since arriving from French Ligue 1 club Marseille in a £15m transfer in 2024. Before his move to France, he was an integral part of Sheffield United's promotion campaign from the Championship in 2023.
The 44-cap Senegal international spent brief time at Marseille under current Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi. The Italian manager was appointed at Marseille just days before Ndiaye was sold, meaning Ndiaye never played an official match under De Zerbi.
Richarlison departure request and Everton return
The proposed move for Richarlison follows comments from De Zerbi after Tottenham's 2-0 defeat against Newcastle United on Saturday, where the manager confirmed that the Brazilian was among three players seeking to leave the north London club.
"Richarlison he said too many times that he wanted to leave," De Zerbi said after the match. "Danso came to me two days ago and said he wanted to leave. Sarr the same but he also suffered a small injury but he is almost ready to train."
De Zerbi revealed that Austrian defender Kevin Danso and Senegalese midfielder Pape Matar Sarr had also expressed a desire to move on, though Sarr is close to returning to training following a minor injury.
Richarlison previously spent four seasons at Everton, scoring 53 goals in 152 appearances before joining Tottenham in a £60m transfer. Since moving to north London, the Brazilian forward has scored 32 goals in 134 matches for Spurs.
