Chelsea have agreed terms with England midfielder Jordan Henderson, with the 36-year-old set to be confirmed as a Chelsea player after signing this weekend. Henderson became a free agent after mutually cancelling his contract with Brentford last week.
Everton work multiple fronts
Everton are in talks with Arsenal over a £7million deal for midfielder Christian Norgaard. The 32-year-old has been on Everton's radar as a new contract for veteran Idrissa Gana Gueye looks increasingly unlikely, and with James Garner sidelined for the start of the season after groin surgery.
Norgaard would become Everton's fourth summer signing after the £24m arrival of Hayden Hackney and the permanent additions of Tyrique George and Merlin Rohl. He made seven league appearances for Arsenal last season and 20 overall after joining from Brentford for £15m, having wanted more game time. He turned down offers from Turkey and Saudi Arabia to stay in the Premier League. Arsenal want to use funds to pursue Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United to strengthen their midfield.
Everton are also talking to Manchester United about striker Ethan Wheatley, a deal viewed as one for the academy given Everton technical director Nick Coc worked with the 20-year-old during his time at United's academy. Wheatley spent last season on loan at Bradford City and has been considering offers from abroad, including from Dutch side Cambuur.
Everton are exploring a move for Turkey international winger Baris Yilmaz, 26, of Galatasaray, who was part of Turkey's World Cup squad. Manager David Moyes, who watched his side beat Hamburg 2-1 on Saturday, is short on players and has said he needs support from the club's owners after being disappointed with how last season ended amid a lack of squad depth. Everton are also discussing a deal for Celtic right-back Alistair Johnston.
Bournemouth complete Silva deal, chase Juanlu
Bournemouth have completed the signing of Portugal international defender Antonio Silva from Benfica in a deal worth £21.4m plus a potential £4.3m in add-ons. "The mentality is always to win. I will try my best, and I will play for the fans," Silva said. "It's a pleasure to play for Bournemouth and in the Premier League. I can't wait to start the season with my team-mates and I'm excited to be here."
Bournemouth have also stepped up talks over a £25million deal for versatile Sevilla defender Juanlu Sanchez. The 22-year-old Spain U23 international, who can play right-back or winger, has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs including Everton over the past 18 months. Bournemouth are pushing to sign him now after loaning Alex Jimenez to Fiorentina earlier this month.
Bayindir linked with Celta Vigo
Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir is a target for Spanish side Celta Vigo. The Turkey international was on the bench for United's friendly against Atletico Madrid on Saturday. He had interest from Besiktas early in the window, but they have since signed Alexander Nubel from Bayern Munich. The 28-year-old has other offers, but Vigo are hopeful of reaching an agreement.

Hull City are closing on a £20million agreement with Colorado Rapids for defender Lucas Herrington. The 18-year-old was part of Australia's World Cup squad and became the Socceroos' youngest-ever World Cup starter in their final group game against Paraguay. Hull are also in talks over a £17million deal for Nice winger Mohamed Ali-Cho, 22, who has also drawn interest from Monaco. The France U21 international had spells at Paris St Germain and Everton as a teenager before joining Angers, and is eligible for four national teams having been born in France, raised in England and of Ivorian and Moroccan descent.
Leicester City have signed Brighton winger Tommy Watson on a season-long loan. The 20-year-old, who was at the King Power Stadium for Saturday's friendly against Genoa but not in the squad, is set to make his debut in the Carabao Cup first round against Northampton Town next Saturday. He spent last season on loan at Millwall and had attracted interest from several Championship clubs before joining Leicester, who were relegated to League One last season. A scratch Leicester side lost 1-0 to Coventry City in a behind-closed-doors friendly at the club's Seagrave training complex on Saturday, with Joel Latibeaudiere heading in a late winner in the 80th minute.
West Ham midfielder Freddie Potts is poised to join Club Brugge in a £10.5million deal and is due to travel for a medical. West Ham have had their latest offer for Celtic midfielder Arne Engels rejected. England U21 defender Charlie Cresswell is joining Rennes on an initial loan from Toulouse, with a medical set for tomorrow. The 23-year-old had interest from West Ham, Fulham and Crystal Palace, but Rennes have an obligation to buy for £19m including a 10 percent sell-on clause.
Brentford have moved to sign Lens midfielder Mamadou Sangare for £39m. The 24-year-old completed a medical on Friday and is set to sign a five-year deal with an option for an extra year. Ipswich Town are in talks with Strasbourg over the permanent signing of forward Julio Enciso, who impressed on loan at Ipswich during their 2024/25 Premier League season and worked with Ipswich boss Gary O'Neil at Strasbourg last season. Strasbourg may in turn take 19-year-old Chelsea right-back Godwin Antwi on loan.
Alkmaar striker Troy Parrott, a former Tottenham academy graduate, is attracting interest from Como, Ajax, PSV Eindhoven and Real Betis after scoring 31 goals last season. Alkmaar are reluctant to sell the 24-year-old Republic of Ireland international to a rival Dutch club.
Fulham remain in discussions with Real Madrid over the signing of teenager Thiago Pitarch, wanted by manager Alvaro Arbeloa. Madrid duo Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios, valued at a combined £43million, were due in London today. At 18 years and 226 days, Pitarch became Real Madrid's youngest player to start twice in the Champions League knockout stages, surpassing Vinicius Jr's previous record by 10 days. He impressed in Madrid's 3-0 win over Manchester City in March and returned to training determined to impress Jose Mourinho and fight for a first-team place, but Fulham are hopeful of persuading him to join Palacios and Garcia in west London.
