Two men were escorted out of their courtside seats during the Indiana Fever game against the Las Vegas Aces at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Thursday night after making remarks to players that went too far.
The incident occurred in the third quarter of the game. Las Vegas Aces guard Jackie Young inbounded the ball, swiftly pointed toward the fans, and spoke to an official. Security personnel then approached the two middle-aged men seated courtside and directed them away down the tunnel.
A video posted on social media by Ahmed/The Ears/IG: BigBizTheGod 🇸🇴 (@big_business_) on August 7, 2026, showed security escorting the two fans out of the arena during the game.
Jackie Young addressed the matter after the game but refused to get into specifics about what the fans had said. "He was just chirping all game. I let him have it, and then he just made one that was a little bit too far," Young told reporters.
"They [security] did the right thing. Obviously, we don't want to see fans get kicked out, but at the end of the day, we're human too. So let's just show up to games, have fun and not take it too far," Young added. When pressed on what was said, she replied, "I think we'll just keep it in here."
Fever statement and game result
The Indiana Fever later released a statement regarding the incident. "Following a report of a comment directed toward a player, arena security spoke with the fan involved and witnesses," the team said.
"Security determined there was no violation of the Fan Code of Conduct. The fan was not removed from the arena, but elected to leave. We consider the matter closed," the statement continued.
In the game itself, the Las Vegas Aces secured a dramatic 86-84 victory over the Indiana Fever. Chelsea Gray hit a buzzer-beater three-pointer to seal the win.
The game-winning shot came after a turnover by Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark. Clark was unable to get past reigning WNBA MVP A'ja Wilson, who swatted the ball away and left Clark on the floor as the Aces hit a fast break. The ball eventually found Gray on the outside, who made no mistake. WNBA fans rushed onto social media to blame Clark for the defeat.
