UEFA has told Gianni Infantino to resign as FIFA president or face a vote of no confidence, The Telegraph has reported in an exclusive.
According to the report, UEFA privately demanded that Infantino step down from his role. If he refuses, the European body said it would trigger a no-confidence vote across all of its member federations.
UEFA also issued a public statement saying it had lost confidence in Infantino. The ultimatum comes even after the FIFA president announced he was withdrawing his plan to sell the World Cup rights, a concession that has not been enough to repair the relationship between the two bodies.
The conflict between Infantino and UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin therefore continues, with FIFA elections scheduled for 2027.
