Goalkeeper Vozinha was unveiled by Colo-Colo on Tuesday, August 4, and said he had always expected the World Cup to bring big things for his career and for Cape Verde.
Vozinha said it had always been something he dreamed of since he was young, and that he knew the World Cup could bring many big things for him. He said he had prepared his whole life and throughout the season for that moment, and was very grateful to have played in the World Cup and for everything that happened during it.
Cape Verde's historic run
Vozinha said Cape Verde's historic participation in the World Cup also represented an important step for football in the country. He said he hoped the national team's performance would inspire new generations of Cape Verdean athletes.
Presentation to fans
Vozinha is expected at Colo-Colo's home stadium, the Estadio Monumental, on Wednesday, August 5, to be presented to supporters. Around 42,000 people are expected to attend the stadium to welcome him.
