Only five districts and two autonomous regions have representation in elite Portuguese football. Académico de Viseu stands alone among the 18 top-flight teams as the single representative from the country's interior following their promotion.
Reporting for Correio da Manhã, journalist José Luís Oliveira noted that poet Manuel Alegre's line from Trova do Vento que Passa stating there is always someone who resists could serve as a motto for Académico de Viseu in the upcoming campaign.
