Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta started Dowman in the match. Gabriel and Martinelli played 30 minutes, and the team made seven changes in the second half, which slowed the game down.

Bellerin faces former club

Real Betis defender Hector Bellerin spent 10 years at Arsenal and spoke about facing his former team.

"It is unexpected. Lots of players are still to come back, but it was a great test for us and great to get that confidence," Bellerin told Premier Sports.

"Very happy personally to live the experience against former team-mates and enjoy playing football. As soon as the friendly got announced I was counting the days. I am very grateful to enjoy this game and it has been nice to play against them after what they have achieved. I spent 10 years there."

Petit praises Rice

Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit defended Declan Rice after Graeme Souness called him limited.

"Graeme Souness called Declan Rice limited? I don't know why he said that," Petit told Mr Gamble. "I think Declan Rice has the quality, character, and confidence to play as a central defender, definitely. Maybe he will drop back there at the end of his career. But I disagree."

"I think with no injuries and a hundred percent fit, Declan Rice is one of the best players in his position, he has leadership. He's got the intelligence, he's got everything. He can defend, win the ball, score goals, take free kicks, and make assists. And his work rate on the pitch is great. It's a gift for a manager to have players like Rice in the dressing room. So I don't know why he said he's limited. Limited in what? He does everything needed from a midfield player."
