Barcelona and PSG are set to begin transfer talks Monday over World Cup hero Ferran Torres, valued at 50 million euros.

Barcelona and PSG to Negotiate Ferran Torres Transfer

Ferran Torres, who scored Spain's winning goal in the World Cup final, looks set to be at the center of a major transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, according to Spanish newspaper Sport.

Negotiations between Barcelona and PSG are due to start on Monday, August 10, with an agreement expected by the middle of the week. PSG has informed Barcelona of its agreement with Torres, though Barcelona's leadership has reportedly known about it for roughly a week.

Transfer fee and price gap

Sport reported that the biggest issue, as almost always, is the transfer fee, and that neither club has publicly commented on the figures involved, though both have signaled their expectations, with some differences remaining at the negotiating table. Torres is expected to cost at least 50 million euros, and while initial differences existed between the clubs, the deal is no longer seen as at risk.

Sport said Torres wants to move to Paris, that Luis Enrique is waiting for him with open arms, and that Barcelona is eager to raise enough money to pursue Rodri and Julian Alvarez, two targets still on the market. Barcelona opens its new season on August 23 against Elche.
