The stoppage aims to guarantee full support and focus for hosting the tournament in Brazil. The competition will bring together 32 national teams from around the world and will take place across eight Brazilian host cities.
Host cities and stadium preparation
Matches will be played in Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, and São Paulo. In those locations, several stadiums will be handed over to Fifa one week in advance for tournament preparations.
