Ferran Torres Scores Debut Brace for PSG After Transfer

Spanish forward Ferran Torres scored twice on his Paris Saint-Germain debut this weekend following his summer transfer from Barcelona, coming off the bench at half time to lead the French side to victory.

The former Barcelona attacker replaced Ousmane Dembélé at the interval and scored both goals after being set up on both actions by Spanish teammate Fabián Ruiz, with the tactical link between the two Spaniards drawing immediate attention.

With his debut brace, Torres became only the second player in PSG history to score two goals in his first appearance for the Parisian club, matching a record previously held solely by Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimović. PSG spent a total of 162 million euros in the transfer market to strengthen its squad for the 2026/27 season.

The Parisian club completed several marquee signings during the transfer window, securing deals for Maghnes Akliouche, Lucas Digne, Torres, Mika Godts, and goalkeeper Zion Suzuki. Meanwhile, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is searching for a replacement striker, with the departure of Torres and the absence of Robert Lewandowski leaving a vacant position in the Catalan attack.

Intermittent Fasting and Physical Preparation

Torres, who scored the winning goal in the World Cup final earlier this summer, attributes his physical condition to a strict dietary regime that includes intermittent fasting. He follows an 18-hour daily fasting window, eating dinner between 7:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. before abstaining from food until 2:00 p.m. the following afternoon.

The forward explained that training on an empty stomach provides him with increased energy during sessions. He noted that he feels more energetic without food in his system, experiences no hunger, and feels no physical need to eat before workouts.

Speaking to Men's Health magazine, Torres stated that professional sports are constantly evolving and requiring higher levels of physical preparation from athletes. He said he actively seeks to stay up to date with modern training methods to maintain peak performance, highlighting proper nutrition and adequate rest as essential components for extending a professional playing career.

Indulgence in White Chocolate

Despite maintaining a disciplined diet, Torres acknowledged a personal dietary vice that he defends openly. He revealed that white chocolate is his favorite item in the world, admitting that although he attempts to limit his intake, he loves the treat and dismissed critics who argue that white chocolate does not qualify as genuine chocolate.

The sweet treat carries specific nutritional attributes that align with elite athletic demands when consumed in moderation. White chocolate contains higher levels of calcium than dark chocolate due to its dairy content, alongside vitamins B2 and B3 which assist in energy metabolism, while small quantities eaten after intense workouts can aid in restoring muscle glucose levels.
