Greek football clubs AEK Athens, Olympiacos, OFI Crete and Panathinaikos have learned their qualification probabilities for European competitions following the latest UEFA league phase draws.
Statistical analysis provider Football Meets Data published the predictions, assessing each club's chances of finishing in the top 24 to reach the knockout rounds and the top eight to secure direct entry into the round of 16.
Under European governing body UEFA's single league phase format, 36 clubs compete in a unified standings table for each tournament. Teams finishing in the top eight automatically advance to the round of 16, while those placed ninth through 24th enter a two-legged play-off round.
Champions League prospects for AEK
AEK Athens face a challenging Champions League campaign against Real Madrid, Manchester City, Dortmund, Roma, Shakhtar, Galatasaray, Como and LASK. Football Meets Data gives the Greek club a 40.2 percent chance of finishing inside the top 24.
However, AEK have minimal chances of securing direct qualification to the round of 16, with their likelihood of a top-eight finish rated at just 3.9 percent.
Europa League odds for Olympiacos and OFI
In the Europa League, Piraeus side Olympiacos are strong favorites to make the top 24, with Football Meets Data placing their chances at 78.3 percent. They face Milan, Marseille, Sparta Prague, Rennes, Jagiellonia, Celje, Hoffenheim and Torreense.
Olympiacos also hold a 24.7 percent probability of finishing in the top eight to secure direct qualification to the round of 16.
Fellow Greek representatives OFI Crete, managed by Christos Kontis, face Bayern Leverkusen, Benfica, Anderlecht, Rennes, Lech Poznan, Sturm Graz, Hoffenheim and Hapoel Be'er Sheva. The Cretan side have a 7.5 percent chance of reaching the top 24 and a 0.2 percent chance of making the top eight.
Conference League chances for Panathinaikos
In the Conference League, Panathinaikos will play Freiburg, Brighton, Borac, Kairat, CSKA Sofia and Nordsjaelland. Football Meets Data gives the Athens team an 82.1 percent probability of finishing in the top 24.
Panathinaikos also have a 23.5 percent chance of reaching the top eight to earn automatic qualification into the round of 16.
