New York Knicks guard Jose Alvarado was filmed throwing stacks of cash at Starlets, a gentleman's club in Queens, as the team's championship celebrations continued to sweep the city.
The Brooklyn native has been fulfilling a promise to celebrate relentlessly after the Knicks brought home the Larry O'Brien trophy.
Alvarado had said during a podcast before the postseason that he would be drunk for eight days if the Knicks won, adding that he would be having a party in every state. The guard has anchored several victory parties and parades across the city since the team clinched the title.
Footage circulating on social media from the venue shows Alvarado standing near the stage, wearing a heavy chain and tossing dollar bills into the air. Dozens of onlookers filmed him as the money rained down on the stage during the music-fueled bash.
An eight-day marathon nears its end
The club appearance appears to be one of the final stops on Alvarado's self-imposed eight-day celebration. Just hours before the outing, he had shared a photo of himself passed out face-down on a folding table, captioned simply Day 7, leading many fans to believe he was ready to stop.
Instead, Alvarado found a second wind and kept the party going with local revelers at the Queens club. He has been the most visible member of the championship roster during New York City's postseason festivities over the last week.
The parade through Manhattan
The Knicks held an open-top bus parade through the streets of Manhattan after ending their 53-year wait to win an NBA championship. Owner James Dolan was joined by a host of WAGs, celebrities and New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani as they paraded through the streets, with fans turning out in blue and orange.
Trash cans along the route of the Canyon of Heroes had been repainted in orange and blue to mark the occasion. In a video that went viral, one woman wearing a blue Knicks t-shirt and an orange fisherman beanie hat was seen picking up one of the receptacles and dumping its contents, including spilled beverages, onto the sidewalk. Fans on social media criticized the woman for a lack of respect.
