Mbappé Ends 19-Year Nike Deal, Nears New Sponsor

Kylian Mbappé has ended his contract with Nike, closing a relationship that began when he was eight years old. The Real Madrid forward's deal with the American brand officially expired on July 31, 2026, and an extension now looks unlikely despite earlier talk of a renewal.

Mbappé is reportedly close to settling on his next kit sponsor. The news was first reported by Thibaud Vézirian, a journalist who specializes in Ligue 1 coverage, who said negotiations are moving quickly with a brand aiming to make a forceful entry into the football market.

A brand outside the usual names

According to Vézirian, the new supplier is not expected to be one of the sector's well-known names, ruling out Adidas, Puma and Under Armour. He said Mbappé is set to sign a contract worth millions of euros.

Vézirian said things are moving quickly for an unexpected brand to become Kylian Mbappé's kit supplier, with the deal being finalized. He described it as a major shift, saying a football star would be involved to help the brand make a triumphant entry into the sport with high-end boots, and that Mbappé would benefit both from his own brand and from a stake in the company.

A stake in the company

The new arrangement would go beyond a standard sponsorship deal. Vézirian said Mbappé could receive a shareholding in the company, making him one of its investors as well as its face.

The company reportedly plans to develop football-related products, particularly high-end boots, using the French forward's image as one of its main selling points for an international launch.

Specialized media outlets have put the value of the outgoing Nike-Mbappé deal at around 17 million euros a year.
