Real Madrid have reached an agreement with RB Leipzig to sign Yan Diomande on a seven-year contract, the club has confirmed. Real are paying a guaranteed fee of £107million for the 19-year-old, with the total deal worth up to £120million.
Diomande has left Leipzig's pre-season training camp and landed in the Spanish capital ahead of completing a medical and his media duties.
Liverpool had an offer worth £85million rejected earlier in the window, while Paris St Germain also tried to sign the Ivory Coast international. Real had previously seen a bid worth £85.4million (100million euros) rejected by Leipzig, with the German club holding out for a nine-figure sum.
PSG had been seen as a more likely destination for the winger, with Diomande saying he had loved the French club since he was little. But the back-to-back Champions League winners eventually pulled out of the race to sign him because of the high fee attached.
Fifth arrival of Mourinho's rebuild
Diomande becomes the fifth signing of Jose Mourinho's rebuild at the Bernabeu since his return, following Denzel Dumfries, Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konate and Bernardo Silva. Real are also looking to tie down Vinicius Jnr to a new contract amid interest from Arsenal.
Diomande scored 13 goals and provided ten assists in 36 appearances last season. He then starred in Ivory Coast's run to the round of 32 at the World Cup, showing his dynamism on both wings.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are working to add PSG pair Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye.
