Brazil forward Richarlison and his fiancee Amanda Araujo announced on Friday that their second child will be a girl named Aurora after holding a gender reveal celebration.
The couple, who are already parents to a one-year-old son named Richarlison Jr, shared the news through a video posted to their social media accounts. In the footage, the pair stood together to open a large cardboard box, removing its lid to release a cluster of pink balloons that confirmed the baby's sex.
Araujo confirmed the child's name in the caption of the video post, writing that their daughter will be called Aurora. The reveal took place five days after the couple first announced the pregnancy on Sunday, November 1, when they shared photographs alongside their young son and noted in their caption that they were now four.
Richarlison, 29, and Araujo, 23, have been engaged since August 2026, when the footballer proposed at a hotel in London. The couple currently live together in the English capital, where Richarlison plays in the Premier League for Tottenham Hotspur and regularly represents the Brazil national team.
Meeting through PUBG Mobile
The couple originally met in 2019 while playing the multiplayer mobile battle royale game PUBG Mobile. At the time, Araujo was competing as a player for an all-female esports gaming team, while the professional footballer was involved in organising competitive tournaments for the title.
Following a match, Richarlison searched for Araujo on Instagram and initiated contact by sending her a message with a pigeon emoji, a nod to his well-known football nickname The Pigeon. Araujo did not recognise the international striker at the time and initially believed she was speaking with someone from abroad.
The pair maintained an online friendship for several years before meeting in person for the first time in 2022 during a holiday in Jericoacoara, a popular coastal village in the north-eastern Brazilian state of Ceara. Their relationship later became public in May 2024.
Family life and viral nickname
In December 2024, the couple announced their first pregnancy with an update on social media. Their firstborn child, Richarlison Jr, was born on June 15, 2025, in the city of Maringa, in the southern Brazilian state of Parana.
Beyond his football career, Richarlison gained widespread attention on social media through the nickname father of the baby. The running family joke originated in humorous video clips recorded and shared by Araujo's brother, Eduardo Daibert, who is the young child's uncle.
In the recordings, Daibert began referring to his nephew simply as the baby rather than using the child's formal name. The videos quickly spread online, leading to Araujo receiving the playful moniker ex-gra, short for former pregnant woman, while Richarlison became widely recognised by fans as the baby's father.
