Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku has completed a move to Turkish club Fenerbahce from Napoli on a one-year deal.
The transfer cost the Istanbul side slightly more than 5 million euros, equivalent to 34.5 million Brazilian reais, according to Sky Sports. Lukaku completed the move on Wednesday, August 12.
The 33-year-old forward signed an initial one-year contract, with the agreement containing an option to extend his stay in Turkish football for a further season.
Fenerbahce are based in Istanbul and compete in the Süper Lig, the top division of Turkish football. The transfer brings one of Europe's most prominent international strikers to the Turkish league.

In his first statements as a Fenerbahce player, delivered in a video message, Lukaku expressed strong enthusiasm about joining the club. He said it was a great honour and privilege to be part of an institution with such a magnificent history.

Napoli confirmed the Belgian forward's departure to Turkey through an official statement published on their social media accounts. The Italian club announced the definitive sale of player Romelu Lukaku Bolingoli to Fenerbahce Spor Kulubu.
Napoli are based in Naples and play in Serie A, the top tier of Italian football, where Lukaku spent two seasons before finalizing his departure to Turkey.
Trophy success and injury struggles in Italy
During his time with Napoli, Lukaku made a major impact in his first year, delivering decisive performances to help the club win both the Italian Championship and the Italian Super Cup in 2025.
However, his following season was severely hampered by a series of successive injuries. The fitness problems restricted the Belgian international to just seven appearances throughout the campaign.
The move to Fenerbahce represents Lukaku's opportunity to overcome those fitness setbacks and rebuild his position on the international stage.
