Santa Clara and Nacional drew 2-2 on Monday in a match played in Ponta Delgada that closed the opening round of the 2026/27 Primeira Liga season.
Gonçalo Paciência put the home side ahead twice, scoring in the 19th and 21st minutes to give Santa Clara control of the match.
Nacional responded before the break. Igor Liziero pulled one back in the 36th minute, and Miguel Baeza leveled the score in the closing moments of the first half, in the 45th minute. The 2-2 scoreline held until full time.
Fifth draw of the opening round
The result was the fifth draw registered in the season's inaugural round. Estoril and Famalicão had already drawn 1-1, Estrela da Amadora and Sporting finished 2-2, Moreirense and Sporting de Braga also drew 2-2, and Benfica and Académico de Viseu shared the points at 2-2.
FC Porto won at home against Alverca in the league's opening fixture.
Benfica opened its league campaign with the 2-2 draw against Académico de Viseu, played at the Estádio da Luz without spectators.
