(Miami) Laval resident Charles Leblanc hit a long ball, hit a double and crossed home plate twice in the Miami Marlins’ 10-3 victory over the Chicago Cubs on Monday night.
With a runner at base in the eighth inning, the Quebecois sent the ball over the fence into left field.
Leblanc, who played first base, ended the night with two hits and a walk in four.
Leblanc, who was playing his 37and game in the major leagues, totaled 35 hits and four home runs in 123 hits this season.

Bryan De La Cruz had a grand slam that allowed Leblanc to score. Jon Berti also went to the Marlins.
Marlins starting pitcher Edward Cabrera (6-3) allowed three runs in five working innings. The rookie allowed three hits, walked three and knocked out four.
De La Cruz’s goal was made against Wade Miley (1-1) and allowed his team to eliminate a 2-0 deficit.
