(Boston) The Toronto Blue Jays secured a playoff spot after the Baltimore Orioles lost 5-3 to the Red Sox in Boston.
Canada’s only major league team got the good news on Thursday, on a day off. Starting Friday, the Blue Jays will host the Boston Red Sox.
The Queen City club had hoped to celebrate only after the series against the Red Sox began.
This will be the Blue Jays’ first playoff appearance since the shortened 2020 season. With six games left, the Blue Jays can now focus on their playoff placement.
