(Toronto) The Toronto Blue Jays acquired right-handed pitcher Zach Thompson from the Pittsburgh Pirates for minor league outfielder Chavez Young on Tuesday.
Thompson made 22 appearances for the Pirates last season. The 6-foot, 110-pound colossus went 3-10 with a 5.18 ERA in 29 appearances on the mound.
The 29-year-old Texan was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 2014 Major League Draft. He made his first Major League appearance with the Miami Marlins in 2021.
In 55 starts on the mound, including 36 starts, Thompson was 6-17 with a 4.44 ERA.
