Slitter Manny Machado signed a new 11-year, $350 million contract that will keep him with the San Diego Padres until 2033, according to a person familiar with the deal.

The source spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because Machado has to undergo a physical exam.

The deal was first reported by ESPN.

Machado said that after this season he plans to walk away from the 10-year, $300 million contract he signed in 2019 with the Padres.

Machado finished second in last year’s Most Valuable National Player poll.

San Diego also has key players Xander Bogaerts, Juan Soto and Fernando Tatis in its ranks. The latter could return to action on April 20 after an 80-game suspension in connection with anti-doping products.

The Padres will open their regular season on March 30 at home to the Colorado Rockies.
