(Atlanta) The Atlanta Braves are considering ending season ticket sales to ensure single-game tickets are available.
Derek Schiller, president of the Braves, said it will be the first time in the history of the entity that the sale of tickets for the season will be stopped before the first game of the calendar.
The Braves plan to end sales around March 17th.
The team also said it could approach Truist Park’s record, where the Braves drew more than 3.1 million spectators in 2022.
The Braves finished fourth last year in the major leagues, averaging 38,461 spectators per game at Truist Park.
“We are now looking to ensure that more of our fans who are only coming for one or two games can buy tickets,” Schiller said in a statement.
Tickets for the April 6 home opener against the San Diego Padres and other high-profile games are nearly sold out, according to team management.
