(Anaheim) Tim Mayza retired Shohei Ohtani with bases loaded to end the game, and the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Los Angeles Angels 12-11 in 10 innings on Sunday.

Ohtani hit one of the Angels’ four home runs, but missed in the final game as the Jays won two of the series’ three games and ended their road trip with a 6–4 record.
Hunter Renfroe, Brandon Drury and Logan O’Hoppe fielded the ball for the Angels, who lost for the fifth time since 2020 despite hitting at least four home runs. Ohtani hit a long ball for the third time this season.
The Jays trailed 6-0 after four innings before scoring 10 straight runs in the sixth and seventh. The Jays led 10–7 in the ninth inning to the last out before the Angels came back and tied the game.
With Cavan Biggio as designated driver during the 10thIt isKiermaier hit a double on Carlos Estevez’s right field line (0-1) to give the team the lead.
Kiermaier, who also had a triple good for two runs in the sixth and a single good for two runs in the seventh, then scored on George Springer’s hit to make it 12-10.
The Angels loaded the bases with two outs in 10It is mango. After receiver Alejandro Kirk failed to catch a foul ball that landed in play, Mike Trout walked Trevor Richards to make it 12-11.
Mayza forced a 0-2 count on Ohtani before running him out in his first save of the season.

The Blue Jays trailed 6-0 after starter Yusei Kikuchi gave up three home runs. But they managed six runs in the sixth set when Chapman’s grand slam kicked off the comeback and Kiermaier leveled with a two-run triple.
The Jays added four runs in the seventh inning to take the lead.
Drury’s one-run homer brought the Angels within three runs before tying the game in the ninth inning.
Ohtani, who went to the same high school as Kikuchi, hit a two-run homer at center and O’Hoppe added a one-run home run in the fourth inning.
