(New York) Aaron Judge’s name has been removed from the injured list ahead of Tuesday night’s game between the New York Yankees and Oakland Athletics.

The reigning American League MVP has not played since April 27 with a strained right hip. In 26 games this season, he’s batting . 261 with six home runs and 14 RBIs.

The Yankees (19-17) went 4-6 in the referee’s absence, scoring just 3.5 points per game. He is the second regular to return to action for the Yankees in a week, after outfielder Harrison Bader last Tuesday.

The Yankees are still without pinch hitter Giancarlo Stanton (thigh), third baseman Josh Donaldson (thigh) and pitchers Luis Severino and Carlos Rodon.

Going into Tuesday’s games, the Yankees were last in the All-American East Division, 10 games behind the Tampa Bay Rays and first.

To make room for the judge in their lineup, the Yankees traded left-handed pitcher Nick Ramirez to the AAA level. They also placed infielder Oswald Peraza on the injured list with a sprained right ankle and recalled AAA-level right-handed pitcher Greg Weissert.
