(Los Angeles) Toronto Blue Jays power hitter Vladimir Guerrero Jr., fellow Seattle Mariners Julio Rodriguez and Los Angeles Dodgers Mookie Betts will be among eight hitters competing in the home run contest, hosted at T-Mobile Park in Seattle on July 10th.
Guerrero Jr., 24, has 86 hits and 12 long runs in 306 hits so far this season and is posting a stellar .
For his part, Betts leads the Dodgers with 20 home runs so far this season. The ace confirmed his participation in the home run dispute this Friday, after being chosen as a starter in the National League for the All-Star game.
Juan Soto won last year’s home run match at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, defeating Rodriguez 19-18 in the final.
No Dodgers player has ever won the Major League Home Run Contest. Joc Pederson reached the finals in Cincinnati in 2015 but lost to Todd Frazier.
