(Toronto) Shortstop Arjun Nimmala signed a contract with the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday.
The 17-year-old perspective was selected in the 20It is ranking of the most recent Major League Baseball draft.
Nimmala has spent the last four seasons at Strawberry Crest High School in Dover, Florida.
Standing six feet tall and weighing 170 pounds, Nimmala concluded the 2023 season with 35 hits and 29 RBIs in 25 games.
Nimmala hit . 382 with 22 doubles, three triples and nine home runs in 77 high school games.
He became the most drafted Indian-American player in North America’s four major sports. No Indo-Americans have yet played in the Majors.
